Baku. Vusal Nabiyev – APA-Economics. In January-October 2016 12.5 million tonnes of cargo and 1,580,800 passengers were carried by railway transport, relevantly up 11.9% and 0.6% in comparison to a year earlier.
State Statistical Committee says on average 440 wagons were entrained, 421 wagons detrained per day.
Moreover, 17,900 tonnes of cargo were entrained on the North direction, 5,000 tonnes – on West direction and 1,700 tonnes – on South directions.
In general, 6.9% of cargo transportation falls to share of railway transport.
