Ilham Aliyev re-elected president of National Olympic Committee

Baku - APA. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has been re-elected the president of the country’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), said Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov.

 

The decision was made during the NOC’s election meeting on Dec. 1, APAsport reported. 

 

He said all the participants of the meeting unanimously voted for Ilham Aliyev, who has been heading the NOC since 1997.

 

“On behalf of the sports community, we congratulate Mr. President, who is a great friend and supporter of athletes. The president gave an impetus to our today's success,” he added. 

 

The NOC vice-president, secretary general, members of the Executive Committee and Revision Commission will also be elected today.
