“Necessary conditions created for storage of AstraZeneca and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines to be brought to Azerbaijan,” Azerbaijani deputy Health Minister Viktor Gasimov told APA.

He noted that when the vaccine arrives, there is a document on it: “The document specifies the temperature and conditions for the vaccine should be stored. The manufacturer states this. AstraZeneca is stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees. Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines are more difficult to maintain.”

According to V. Gasimov, medical workers know instructions on the use of vaccines: “Those who work at the vaccination station have been trained and know how to use vaccines.”

The Deputy Minister noted that the issue for allocating a special station for the injection of vaccines to be brought has not been solved yet.

According to the information, on April 5, in the preliminary stage, 84 000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine medicine belonging to AstraZeneca will be sent to Azerbaijan from Korea. The vaccine will be delivered to the country in about 5-6 days. As well as during 8 weeks 218 790 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines will be allocated to Azerbaijan.

Note that AstraZeneca is kept in +2-8 temperature, while Pfizer in -70 degrees.
