These measures being the bright example of state’s standing side by side with its citizens in the current hard times have allowed firstly for protection of jobs and salary revenues of up to 1 million 640 thousand hired employees working in public and private sectors, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population told APA.
By ensuring continuity of social payments, the continuous issuance of payments in various types of social protection (pension, scholarship, allowance) to 2 million citizens from mainly sensitive groups of population has been ensured.
The one time payment program covering up to 600 thousand socially vulnerable unemployed people, the involvement in the paid public works of up to 90 thousand people for increase of employment opportunities, the establishment of at least 12 thousand small family farms in the framework of the self-employment program have been started.
The works are being implemented for provision of up to 340 thousand members of 82 thousand families with targeted state social aid, up to 20 thousand people with unemployment insurance payment, and up to 100 thousand socially vulnerable families with food aid.
Thus, the assistance measures implemented only by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population in connection with the pandemic have covered over 4.8 million citizens or 48 percent of the country’s population.
