Emergencies Ministry to ban constructing buildings not inline with Baku’s general plan

The Minister said he is satisfied with the activities carried out by the ministry within the year and a half.
“But we still have much to do. New equipment will make our activity easier,” he said.
Minister Heydarov said that Emergencies Ministry has ordered new equipment to inspect the quality of buildings. The new equipment will allow determining the quality of concrete and fittings, durability of cells and radiation background in the building.
The Minister refuted the reports that Ministry does not approve bridges and pedestrian crossings in Baku.
“We review the projects of the bridges before their construction, examine them and approve. It is under our control,” the minister said.
Mr. Heydarov underlined that shelters in Baku and other cities are monitored and are brought to readiness for emergency cases.
The Minister also gave information about law violations.
Mr. Heydarov said the investigations carried out when the ministry was just set up established that some 200 buildings had not been expertized in Baku.
“We expertized all buildings. There were buildings that evaded examination, they were examined forcibly. The process will continue,” the Minister said.
Mr. Heydarov also added that the Ministry will not allow constructing buildings not inline with the general plan of Baku. /APA/
