"Our about 4,000 citizens have been taken hostage, captive, and gone missing in the First Karabakh War - 1990-1992 and subsequent years. Probably, all of them have been killed by Armenian usurpers," said Adalat Hasanov, Director of the Union of Forensic Expertise and Pathological Anatomy of the Ministry of Health, APA reports.

He has noted that such human remains are found by coincidence on basis of partial witness statements or during conduction of excavation, repair-reconstruction works after the liberation of occupied territories of Karabakh: "We investigate, exhume, and remove them afterward with a certain scheme, program. At first times, these works were carried out spontaneously.

The site was dug up with bulldozers and afterward, forensic medical examination and the in final result genetic examination were difficult. In this regard, the government gave relevant instructions and applied rules. Then we started to conduct our work within the framework of these rules. Armenians have allocated special space for Azerbaijani captives here, in Edilli village, and buried them massively. Excavation works here are underway. They have not been completed yet. This is the Armenian characteristic.”

Adalat Hasanov noted that all remains are taken putting neatly in containers and each of them will be involved separately in an examination: “Each remain will be numbered, their gender, age, height, cause for death, duration of death, death mechanism will be determined. After genetic examination, they will be genetically profiled, and by taking genetic samples from immediate family members of the missed people, their identity will be clarified. So far, totally remains of 25 people have been found.”
