WHO: There is growing tendency in the spread of influenza in Europe, including Azerbaijan

"We are observing a growing tendency in the spread of flu and other respiratory viruses over the past month in Europe, including Azerbaijan, " World Health Organization's Azerbaijan Representation told APA.

"COVID-19 və mövsümi qripin birgə sirkulyasiyası ilə həssas insanların, o cümlədən yaşlıların, immuniteti zəif olan şəxslərin, hamilə qadınların və yeni doğulmuş körpələrin sağlamlığı daha böyük risk altındadır. Biz infeksiyaların qarşısını almaq, həssas insanları qorumaq və səhiyyə sistemimizin çoxsaylı təhlükələrin qarşısını alması üçün səylərimizə davam etməliyik.

The number of patients has increased at both the first aid center and the hospital.

"Due to the co-circulation of COVID-19 and seasonal flu, the health of vulnerable people, including the elderly, immunocompromised individuals, pregnant women, and newborns, is at greater risk. We should continue our efforts to prevent infections, protect vulnerable people, and counter multiple threats to our healthcare system.

WHO urges us to use the following tools at our disposal to prevent the spread of the virus:

• Get vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu;
• Wearing a mask in public or indoors;
• Clean hands regularly;
• Stay home if you feel sick;
• Cover the mouth with a tissue or bent elbow when coughing or sneezing;
"Especially to ensure good ventilation of mass and public places," the statement said.
