Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum to meet in Istanbul tomorrow

The Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) will organize the 4th General Assembly in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul on Aug. 25-26, APA reports citing Anadolu Agency.

Taha Ayhan, the president of ICYF, will present a work and strategy report of the forum to the members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The opening ceremony, which will be open to the press, will be attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kiran and Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu.

At the opening ceremony, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Yousef Al-Othaimeen, and ministers of youth and sports of Palestine, Libya, Qatar, Gambia, Azerbaijan, Tatarstan, Jordan, and Senegal will also deliver speeches.

Representatives from 56 member countries will discuss the forum's Islamic Cooperation Youth strategy, youth development, economic empowerment, culture, arts, sports, networking, and environmental issues during the two-day assembly. Statistics and conclusions about the projects developed in these areas will be shared with the members.

The General Assembly, which will be closed to the press after the opening ceremony, will conclude with the approval of the forum resolutions, and the calendar of the next presidential election.

Founded in 2004 in Baku, the ICYF is an international, non-commercial, non-partisan organization uniting leading umbrella youth organizations from the member states of the OIC as well as international youth organizations representing Muslim minorities worldwide.
