Opportunities of deployment of Russian border guards in Syunik and Gegharkunik Provinces of Armenia bordering with Azerbaijan are being discussed between the sides, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin told journalists at the opening of Russian Center in Armavir, APA reports citing TASS.
Ambassador noted that Russian border guards have posts in the Syunik province of Armenia bordering with Azerbaijan: "They are contributing to the situation's being calm and stable. Discussions are being conducted for the expansion of the existence of Russian border guards. I think that all will be determined in accordance with the interests of security of Armenia, provision of stability on border, and realization of agreement, adopted in a trilateral format."
