Russia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan exceeds pre-pandemic indicator

Volume of Russia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan returns to pre-pandemic indicator.

In January-July of this year, volume of Russia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan has been USD 1 724,8 bln., which is 8.2% more in annual comparison, said Russia's Trade Representative in Azerbaijan Ruslan Mirsayapov at the press conference, APA-Economics reports.

It has been noted that the indicator was USD 1 594,8 bln. last year.

According to R. Mirsayapov, although trade turnover decreased between two countries due to pandemic, a positive tendency has already been recorded this year. He also added that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia is expected to grow with an increasing tempo.

R. Mirsayapov noted that the main purpose of trade turnover for this year is exceeding the high indicator, achieved in 2019 (USD 3,17 bln.) and according to results of the current year, a positive result has already been achieved. Thus, in the reporting period, the indicator between countries has increased by 4.1% in comparison with the indicator recorded in the corresponding period of 2019 (USD 1 656,7 bln.).
