"It is not on an agenda that European countries will be subjected to a flow of refugees from Afghanistan," said High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell at his speech at the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament held regarding Afghanistan in a hybrid form, APA reports.

"It is not on an agenda today that European countries will be subjected to a flow of refugees from Afghanistan. Because Afghanistan is not close like Syria. Currently, thousands of people are waiting at the Airport. These figures may increase over time.

J. Borrell also touched upon the importance of the establishment of communication with the Taliban: "We should speak with them to prevent the situation. But we should note clearly that establishment of a communication canal does not contain political and international recognition of the Taliban. When I speak about negotiations with Taliban, some protest and say that "No, he suggests negotiating with Taliban, it is not true", but these negotiations do not mean recognition of Taliban.
