As of January 1, 2017, deposits placed by the population in the banks amounted to AZN 7,448,700,000, of which AZN 1,517.2 million (20.4%) are in national currency, AZN 5,931,400,000 (79.6%) in foreign currency.
Compared to the previous year, the personal savings rose AZN 97 million or 6.83%. Savings in foreign currency declined AZN 2,122,300,000 or 26.4%.
Along with this, manat deposits slipped AZN 86.7 million or 6.1%, the deposits in foreign currency descended AZN 243.9 million or 3.9% in December.
