“We are at the beginning of a series of events regarding the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Israel. Israel recognized Azerbaijan’s independence in December 1991,” said Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan George Deek at the press conference, APA reports.

According to him, Israeli-Azerbaijan relations are based on more than 30 years of heritage.

The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan hosts the largest Jewish community among 57 Muslim countries.

“There is an Azerbaijani Community in Israel too. They create a bridge between our countries by maintaining close relations with Azerbaijan. This bridge was established hundreds of years ago. We could build strategic cooperation between Israel and Azerbaijan during 30 years and we highly appreciate it. Our relations have gone through many tests, especially over the past two years.” The ambassador stressed.
