During past 15 years, 1.9 million jobs were created in Azerbaijan, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov said at the international conference on "Towards Sustainable Development Goals, promotion of sustainable development and decent work".
‘Azerbaijani population increases by 1.1-1.2%. This means that more than 100,000 work forces enter the labor market. One of our goals is creation of at least 100,000 jobs’, he said.
According to him, as a result of conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijanis have undergone ethnic cleansing: ‘20% of Azerbaijan’s territory has been occupied by Armenia, more than 1 million Azerbaijanis have been deprived of their homes. On the other hand, 20% of our lands are useless due to occupation. Rate of agricultural use fell to 1/5’.
