Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison (pictured) said on Tuesday while outlining the country's new "JobMaker" plan, the nation doesn't intend to open its borders "anytime soon," as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose a risk to the world, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Morrison revealed, however, he will continue to speak with New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern with an aim to open the trans-Tasman travel zone and create a travel bubble between the two nations.

He went on to say the three steps for reopening the nation's economy are being implemented, noting all of the steps are expected to be completed by July, but that "opening up will be harder than closing down."
