The industrial sector in Japan recorded a 4.3% rise in January compared to the previous month, with a seasonally adjusted index of 97.8, according to a release by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on Tuesday. On a yearly basis, industrial production was down 5.2%, with an index of 88.6, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Shipments were up 3.2% month-on-month, but down 5.1% compared to January 2020. Inventories were unchanged on a monthly basis and dropped 10.3% year-on-year. The inventory ratio fell by 5.7% monthly, or 4.3% on a yearly basis.
