Energy Charter Secretariat supports Azerbaijan in the preparation of related legislation on energy efficiency according to the best experiences of European Union and the world, Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat Urban Rusnák said in his speech at International Energy Charter Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
“Law draft on “Efficient use of energy resources and energy efficiency” was completed last year. We have started to work out Azerbaijan’s first National Activity Plan on Energy Efficiency, which is expected to be completed at the end of 2019 and discussed with relevant bodies at the beginning of 2020”, said U. Rusnak.
The Secretary-General stressed the importance of combining forces in order, to solve acces to energy, increasing energy demand, global warming, and sustainable development in the energy transformation period.
Furthermore, U. Rusnak spoke about measures, to be taken in Azerbaijan’s chairmanship period, as well as cooperation between Azerbaijan and Energy Charter.
