On April 9, Azerbaijan’s law enforcement agencies in conjunction with the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations conducted raids in two places in Garadagh district.
As a result, illegal gatherings of the non-traditional sect “Jehovah witnesses” in two homes on K.Ismayilov str and at 1594th passage were prevented.
A total of 33 people—10 of them children—were found in the two homes. A large number of religious books on their beliefs were seized and documented accordingly.
An investigation is underway into the case.
