Azerbaijan's Deputy PM met with Iranian Foreign Minister

Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Co-Chair of the State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Affairs between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, also met with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hussein Amir Abdollahian, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran told APA.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of development of bilateral relations and the increase in trade turnover between the two countries at the 15th meeting of the State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Affairs between Azerbaijan and Iran. They stressed the importance of the implementation of the agreements reached, as well as the early implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of new communication links between the Eastern Zangazur economic region of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through Iran.

The sides also exchanged views on topical issues of the bilateral cooperation agenda. The sides praised economic, trade, transport, humanitarian and other cooperation between the two countries, as well as high-level reciprocal visits.

The parties also discussed issues of regional cooperation of mutual interest.
