The former Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni said that he hopes EU and UK will remain strong allies even after Brexit, ONA reports citing BBC.
“It will be a hard change in the economics, trade. It will be a very serious problem for Europe, a catastrophic problem for UK. I do hope that not so much will change from a geopolitical point of view. Because, UK and EU in any case even after Brexit are obliged in certain sense to cooperate in such a complicate world. We need to work together because we had at stake some common values freedom, free trade, welfare state, democratic liberties, even in multilateralism. From a geopolitical point of view, EU and UK will continue to be strong allies,” Paolo Gentiloni said.
