The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development suspended Boeing’s 737-8 and 737-9 MAX flights in the Georgian air space. The decision will be enforced starting March 13 with purpose to ensure the safety of passengers, ONA reports citing Georgian media.

The agency follows the instructions and directives of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

A number of countries have grounded Boeing’s 737 MAX 8 medium-haul workhorse jet in response to an Ethiopian Airlines crash on March 10 that killed all 157 people on board.
