Nine policemen have been injured in clashes at a carnival in Caracas, a medical professional working on the site told a TASS correspondent, ONAreports citing TASS.

"Nine policemen were injured," the medic said adding that no civilians were injured.

The medic noted that the sustained injuries are light. A spokesman for the police earlier told TASS that at least one policeman was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

Clashes erupted at a carnival in Caracas earlier. A group of masked young people started throwing stones at National Guard officers. The police arrived at the scene and managed to stabilize the situation.
