In January-May, the number of Azerbaijani tourists traveling abroad is increased by 25,5% compared with the relevant period of last year and amounted to 2 065,9 thousand people, APA-Economics reports citing State Statistics Committee.
39,5% of country citizens head to Iran, 27% to Georgia, 18,3% to Russia, 9,8% to Turkey and 5,4% of Azerbaijanis traveled on other countries. 66,4% of tourists were male, while 33,6% were female.
In January-May, 83,8% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad choose railway and car transport, 15,4% airlines, 0,8% traveled by water transportation means.
