Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri and Chairman of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili have paid a visit to Dmanisi, APA's bureau in Georgia reports.

Minister told journalists in Dmanisi that every person, who violates the law, will be strictly punished.

“What happened last day causes regret. We started the investigation yesterday. Those, who violate the law, will be punished in the strictest form regardless of their personality. Azerbaijanis and Georgians are our citizens. They have lived together for centuries, they are our brothers. This issue should be accepted as an ethnic issue. Ethnic Azerbaijanis are our citizens first of all. Azerbaijan is our strategic partner, co-operator, neighbor, and friend. We should not allow it. Those, who say the issue is ethnic, are enemies of our country and want to aggravate the situation,” stressed the Minister of Internal Affairs.
Remind that a mass brawl occurred in the Dmanisi region, settled by Azerbaijanis, last day.

Chairman of Georgian SSS noted that the incident in Dmanisi is in a household ground and should not be accepted as an ethnic conflict: “Relevant persons are working with conflict sides. There are some detainees regarding the incident and investigations are underway.”

G. Liluashvili has called on the sides to behave within the framework of the law.
