Azerbaijani religious community chairman dismissed for having illegal gathering - EXCLUSIVE

Ruslan Mammadov, chairman of the “II Arabjabirli rural mosque” religious community in Azerbaijan’s Goychay district, has been dismissed for using a calendar other than the one compiled by the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) and having an illegal gathering in a hidden place of worship he had built the Duruja village of Gabala, APA has learned.  

 

Ruslan Mammadov’s activities have been reported to concerned bodies by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.

 

He has been replaced by Rashad Shiraliyev.
