“There can be blemishes of our organization in observation of poll boxes”, said President of Turkey Rajab Tayyip Erdogan to journalists at the plane on the way back from Russia, ONA reports.
President stated their claim on the existence of fraud in municipal elections in Istanbul. Erdogan who said they will trace this issue till the end noted that some doubtful nuances show the traces of fraud: “If there will be enough sincerity it will lead to cancellation of election results”, he added.
Erdogan stated that the difference of 13-14 thousand votes does not prevent a candidate to become a municipal leader: “Let’s lift the doubts and declare this issue solved after the final decision of Higher Elections Authority. But they do not digest the protest. Why shouldn’t we protest? After our protest, the difference in votes decreases from 30 thousand to 13-14 thousand in Istanbul. The protests should continue for Higher Election Authority to accept the final decision. We will accept the final decision even if the difference will be 1 vote.
President of Turkey stated that iniquity in Istanbul elections gives a reason for the cancellation of election results.
