Imams and akhunds who take part in gatherings before Iftar during Ramadan will be fired, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Allahshukur Pashazade said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a meeting dedicated to the coming of Ramadan, the CMO chairman stressed that no Muslim cleric should be a participant or organizer of any gathering before Iftar during Ramadan.
“We should be an example. You are my representatives. Therefore, you must be careful about these issues. I’m telling you this beforehand so that you don’t leave me with the decision of dismissing you from your position. This, otherwise, will be my decision,” he emphasized.
