Russian Radio host Anna Azovskaya died in Moscow

The body of a well-known journalist from Vologda, Anna Azovskaya was found in the apartment of a residential building on Polina Osipenko Street, in the north of the capital, APA reports citing TASS.

Vladimir Maklakov, director general of the Kichgorodetskaya Timber Company, was detained on charges of murder.

They came to Moscow for the New Year holidays. On December 31, they moved into a rented apartment.

The lovers held a festive photo session in the capital. The murder took place on January 3rd. Azovskaya and Maklakov quarreled in the apartment. The 33-year-old man grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Anna several times. The victim still managed to break free and lock herself in the bathroom. However, the attacker broke open the door, after which he continued to strike with a knife.

Neighbors heard the screams and called the police. Law enforcement officers found the dead woman, during the examination they found more than 30 stab wounds on her. There were blood stains all over the apartment. Maklakov was later detained.

“According to the defendant, on January 3 they had an argument, and he hit the woman several times with a kitchen knife that was in the apartment, after which she tried to hide in the bathroom, but he was able to open the door and continued to strike. The defendant also explained that he had consumed alcohol. He pleaded guilty,” the prosecutor’s office said.
